Once upon a time...

Princess Iris has been held captive in her mother's castle for years, but a sinister plot has changed all that. She will be forced into marriage with the cruel prince of the neighboring kingdom. Her future will hold nothing but pain and solitude. Unless, something unexpected happens. Something like being kidnapped by an oddly alluring gargoyle.

Book Review: This was another story I wish had been longer, but it also managed to work as a short. The characters were well developed for a short and while there was an immediate connection, they didn’t act on it. The plot moved along well and kept me interested with a twist at the end.

Once upon a time...

Loria has lived in the tower for as long as she can remember. She has had nothing but her surly guardian and a mysterious voice in her mind to keep her company for years. Now, the presence in her mind is coming for her. Is he her rescuer or her ruin?

Book Review: I would have liked this to have been longer. I liked how this sweet short played out. A trapped princess and an unconventional prince. I thought this to be a cute tale with a bit of spice. It had potential for both world and character building. The plot was strong, but just to darn short.

“Never enter the woods, little one. For you were born under the wolf moon and to the wolf you belong.” Jenna had never heard anything but warnings about the wolf who haunted their village. He was a dark presence that lurked in the woods, always waiting to snatch her away. No one had ever made it through the forest. So, who was the stranger in the village? Why does he seem so interested in her? And why is she so drawn to him?

Book Review: Pretty oblivious but still ok. I wasn't as taken by this as some of the authors other works. Probably because she was taken by a wolf shifter while in wolf which I wasn't crazy about. If that's your bag then hey whatever, more power to you, but it was not for me.

Book Review: The Rose Garden by Adrian Blue

Once upon a time, there was a secret palace and a magical garden...

Scarlett does not believe in fairy stories. She does not believe in magic, and she especially does not believe silly rumors. She only wants to help her family's struggling flower shop. But when a late frost threatens to destroy the family business, Scarlett has to consider even the most unlikely solutions. Rumors say there is a hidden garden in the forest. Anyone who can climb the garden wall can take as many flowers as they can carry. The catch? No one climbs the wall and lives.

The garden is a dark and deadly thing. For one specific person, it will bring a life of pleasure and beauty, but it comes at a price. The garden demands a sacrifice. Its hunger must be satisfied. Is Scarlett willing to make that deal? Or will she find the garden to be a far greater prize than the flowers she came for?

Book Review: This was an interesting take on the magical garden type tale. Scarlett is desperate to help her family. She follows an old tale to a magical garden. I never thought of vines doing the things they did in this book or how sensual petals could be. But wow oh wow, this short was something else. I enjoyed it very much, which probably says something about me, yet this was a hot read.

Book Review: The Cave by Adrian Blue

Taboo: Fairy / Multiple Partners at same time

Her grandmother always called them the Fair Folk. Her mother muttered about fairies. Kate was not sure what her father’s opinion had been, he had become a victim of the forest that surrounded their village soon after she was born, but most of the other villagers had a fearful respect for the beings who called the forest home.

Review: This was a sweet sexy short. I was kinda expecting something a bit different, but the basic outcome was the same. Kate is chosen by the fairies that guard the forest near her home to be their mate. She is given gifts and woo'd(?), in the end she gives in and goes to the cave which is known to be their home/ the gate to their world. Then sexy times happen. It was a quick read, descent escapism and if your looking for something to get you in the mood.

Nerina's psychic abilities have brought her nothing but a life of servitude at the hands of the Western King. She has almost resigned herself to endless days under his tyrannical rule when she senses change on the horizon. There is a force coming, someone strong enough to challenge the cruel king and change the path of her destiny. But what will that new path be and how close will their fates be intertwined? What does it mean to be claimed by the Goblin King?

The Goblin King fell forward onto his hands and slowly lowered himself to inhale against her throat. A deep purr vibrated in his chest, as he placed a long, slow lick from her collarbone to beneath her ear. Nerina inhaled shakily, closing her eyes and tipping her head back to give him more room. He nuzzled her jaw before his lips brushed hers.

Review: Loved this only gripe is that it was too short, yet I also don’t think it would have been better long. So, it is what it is. I enjoyed the characters. The plot moved along well and there was a bit a sexual tension build up that was nice. It made the hot ending so much better. I really liked the err, twist at the end. If you’re looking for a sweet, sexy short to get your motor going this is definitely a book you should check out. Warning it could be a bit kinky for the more vanilla crowd.

Reagan's village has been tormented by a demon bear for centuries. The animal form of a powerful sorcerer, the bear has brutally killed any who tried to defeat him. Every sacrifice the village has given to appease the bear has ended in bloody failure. Now, it is Reagan's turn. Will she meet the same horrible fate as all the others? Or will the monster want something far different from her?

Review: So I wasn’t really prepared for this short. I expected the wizard to turn back into a man at the end, but that didn’t happen. Which means it gets a little weird toward the end, yes that’s a spoiler, but you should know what your getting into. I didn’t and boy oh boy was I surprised. It was a nice story, but the end… I mean if your into that sort of thing then more power to you. The down side is this is a short story, it what I call a wham-bam thank you ma’am. It leaves you wanting more. There are so many questions left unanswered like why is the wizard terrorizing the village, why a bear, why Reagan?  This would have been a great first chapter or few chapters but as a whole story I was left wanting to know more about the plot.
